As many of you are aware, Capitol Park Little League has taken several hits in the past few months. In September, the fields were broken into and our mowers and other maintenance equipment were stolen. A few weeks later, we were hit by storm winds from Hurricane Hermine which destroyed the North Major announcer stand, the North Senior field dugout, and tore the roof off of the North concessions stand, flooding it and ruining some of the equipment inside. Now, just a couple of months later, we have had our facilities severely vandalized and much of our equipment destroyed.
What is sad about this latest attack on the Little League is that it affects the over 1,000 kids and their families who use our facilities every year to play baseball, softball, and football. None of us know why the people responsible did this or how they could be so hateful and selfish.
We are working hard to ensure the damage is cleaned up and the facilities are returned to safe and working conditions. We are also implementing new security measures to try and prevent this from happening again.
In order to do this, we are reaching out to our community and asking for your help! We desperately need donations of materials, time, and money, so that we can get the facilities in shape before our Spring season starting in mid-January.
Below you will find a list of items we are need in of. If you can help, please do.
Sincerely,
Capitol Park Little League Board of Directors
